Static calculation
Static calculations are mathematical calculations used to predict the stresses and strains in a structure or system due to various external forces, such as mechanical or thermal loads. In the context of the text, static calculations are used to determine the stresses and strains that occur in a network of pipes buried underground, which are subject to thermal expansion and compression, as well as the weight of soil and other materials above them. The aim of these calculations is to ensure that the pipes are strong enough to withstand these forces and maintain their structural integrity over the long term. DHS use a specialized software, sisKMR, to carry out these calculations efficiently and accurately.

About District Heating

A district heating network is a system that produces heat from a central location using gas, renewable energy or waste heat. Underground pipes then deliver hot water or steam to the heating and hot water systems in buildings in a closed loop. The water is returned to the plant to be heated and returned again and again.
