Line stopping and bypass to allow grid extension

Location: Martigny, CH

In the case of the extension of the district energy network of the city of Martigny in Switzerland, the industrial services of the commune have to create new parts of the district energy network, including parts that were not designed at the time of the previous works (between 30 and 40 years). Given the context, DHS conducted a study to determine the best intervention method. The result was freezing with liquid nitrogen. In this way, the power supply cut, included in the case of works on a main pipeline, was less than 2 hours at the beginning and less than 2 hours at the end of the works.
